This jutsu is an alternative to Gaara's Desert Coffin; it gathers sand in the air and then targets the opponent from above, covering them in a rain of sand.

In the second movie, an alternate form of this jutsu was shown in which Gaara forms the sand into needle-like projectiles and fires them towards his opponent at a very high speed.-wiki

Once Gaara begins transforming into Shukaku, he can throw shuriken made from sand. Unlike regular shuriken, these are merely fast-moving balls of sand that cause blunt trauma, not actual wounds. They are thrown much faster than regular shuriken; therefore, the pain caused can be considerable.

*dodges shuringan* (that sand is only millions of grains head together if i use fireball enough i should get in) *uses fireball jutsu*

(My barrier of sand is automatic even from self wounds only barely something gets to my armor) *Looks for sand behind him in enviroment and uses it to attack him*

*notices and quickly dodges and waits as u pull a trip wire shurikens come at u from all sides*
